Through his professional training as a window-dresser and commercial artist, Franz Heigl discovered art.
Ever since the 1960s he has particularly enjoyed painting in watercolours and tempera.
The artist, who was born in 1937 in the Bavarian Forest and today lives in Chiemgau, has worked as a freelance artist since 1989.
His paintings captivate the viewer with the combination of colors.
Warm, tender colours at the rims of the painting are set off against rich and expressive colours in the middle of the painting and thus emphasize the actual motif.
Playful gleams of light flood the landscapes by Franz Heigl and impart an extraordinary optical appeal to them.
