Kunstenaar Moss

"Born in Syracuse, New York, PAG artist Moss spent much of his childhood on a dairy farm in upstate New York, and then travelled around the country, living in Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri before returning to New York. After studying illustration and painting at Rhode Island School of Design, Moss remained in Manhattan. During this time, he was an international guest lecturer at colleges and conferences in New England, as well as Pakistan. Drawn by his love of the desert and the mountains, Moss moved to Arizona in 1993 to begin his career in fine art in what he refers to as the “western half” of his life. Inspired by N.C. Wyeth, Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, John Singer Sargent, and Georgia O’Keefe, Moss loves to combine his passion for painting with his passion for travel. He has made extensive road trips across North America, Mexico and England, and adventurous sojourns to the primitive villages in the Darien Jungles of South America. This vast experience of travelling the world and seeing it first-hand has given Moss a unique perspective which is apparent in the broad range of his subject matter and the loving contemporary style in which he captures them. Whether he is painting the people of Panama, carousel horses or the small town carnival “carnies,” for which he maintains a soft spot, Moss always finds something worthy and beautiful in everyday life."
