Kunstenaar Paul Freeman

"Born in 1947 in the West of England, Paul Freeman was a student of the Cardiff College of Art during the 1960s and went on from there to complete an Honours degree at Stourbridge College of Art.For many years, he worked as a professional photographer with the Natural History Museum in London, before turning to art full time in 1986. His wide range of interests has led him to portray enthusiastically a variety of imagery, from life-work, dance and portraiture to sailing and modern yacht racing. His work has been shown at many prestigious exhibitions in the UK and he has had paintings selected several times by both the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists.Prestigious commissions have followed this commercial and artistic success, as his reputation for fine, imaginative work grows. His dance studies in particular have been widely praised. His use of colour is restrained and subtle, yet his images convey a strong sense of freshness and life.Paul Freeman is a keen sailor, and when he is not painting he devotes most of his time to this sport, and also to extensive and detailed research into his work."
