..born in 1956, he lives and works in Italy.
A graduate of the Florence Academy of Fine Arts,his paintings are now exhibited in the United States, Spain and Japan. Calvetti’s compositions are disconcerting. The female figure is depicted in warmly coloured tones of wood and leather.Assuming a different pose each time: ones dreaming, seductively peeling off a stocking; she charms the viewer, drawing them into her most intimate universe. Calvetti’s work is what is known as ‘intimist’, exploring the most secretive and fascinating depths of the female soul.
